Travel is a source of inspiration. These days I have been in Koblenz, a beautiful German city where the Moselle and Rhine rivers meet, where historic buildings coexist with factories and offices; medieval churches with Scalextric tracks, modern bridges, and many different forms of transportation. The contrast can also be seen in the people who live there, as happens in many cities not only in Germany but throughout Europe: a melting pot of cultures where native Germans live alongside immigrants and people like me who are just passing through. I’m sharing some photos I took in the city here.
Strong contrasts can also be seen in my paintings: dynamism and stillness, order and chaos are present in my work. Could it be that, ultimately, the subject of my work is myself and the world I inhabit?
