Friday afternoon. At the airport, I feel like my trip has begun, maybe that’s why I leave home early and arrive early. Two hours of flight. The city receives me, silent. Night falls in Basel, a cold and calm night.

On Saturday, after a morning walk through the streets of the center, cathedral and town hall, relaxing and Glühwein by the Rhine, I head to the Katapult gallery, where we have a New Year’s apéro, a meeting of artists and friends to celebrate the year and the art together. Afterwards, a pleasant time with Stephan Jon Tramèr, Swiss artist, and two fellow exhibitors, in the center of Basel. Italian dinner and return to the hotel.

On Sunday, after going to the church of Santa Clara, I visit Eddie Hara, a great artist and friend, who welcomes me with his wife Katherine, prepares me a wonderful Asian meal and gives me a nice print that he has just painted – more I’ll show it to you below. I go to the airport cold but happy. The low temperatures contrast with the warmth of friendship.

It has been a great weekend in Basel, enjoying the city, art and friends, while participating in a group exhibition at the Katapult gallery, from January 10 to 12. The exhibition runs until January 25.
