In the hours of a day, the four seasons of the year fit. Spring is the dawn, the first rays of sun, the fresh morning; summer is midday and early afternoon; autumn is the evening, the sunset, the twilight; winter, night.
Autumn brings us closer to the end of the life cycle, which is winter, and then we are reborn, each year, in spring. Autumn, introspective, invites reflection on the passage of time. I like transitions: the transition from day to night, the transition from orange to red or from green to blue – that tone that for some is still green and for others it is already blue. Autumn is transition, change, moving.
The center of Madrid, with the first drops, becomes more Parisian and the parks captivate passersby with the soft warmth of serene ochers.
In many of my works, with their bright tones, there is a summer that does not want to leave. In the creative processes, there are walks in the countryside, the smell of wet earth, rainy days and a winter that looms in the distance. My cheerful tones, punctuated by large areas of non-color. Dynamism is followed by stillness and warm tones surround cold ones. Sharp changes, smooth transitions. It is the cycle of life.
I leave you above a photo that I took a long time ago and that I rescued for you today, of an autumnal Madrid and below these lines I send you a greeting with a detail of the work I am working on these days.
